The research analyzes the rights of working women and the response(s) of the Labor Court of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in the period of creation and installation of the Labor Justice, between 1941 and 1946. Uses as primary sources the processes of the Conciliation and Trial Boards of the city of Porto Alegre from this period. Through the exploratory method, despite the conquest of rights demonstrating progress for working women, there was still strong resistance in the social and, consequently, legal sphere, to the idea of women working outside the domestic sphere.
