Analysis of constitutional culture during the “triennio giacobino” (through the Pagano and Campagnoni cases) shows that the influence of french constitutionalism was not only in its jacobin version, but also in the liberal-democratic girondin version. So, traditional division between democratic and moderate politics should be modified, because these two categories are not enough to show the complexity of the political positions that will be opposite during the “Risorgimento” era.
