This paper studies and publish the paperwork connecting to two court cases brought by G. M. de Jovellanos as Magistrate of Sala de Alcaldes de Casa y Corte in Madrid, 1779. These two concise texts are matter of interest because previously we had only indirect evidence of five causes, because these allow us to know first-hand his judicial performance, because the preserved documentation of the causes of the Sala de Alcaldes is limited, and because they provide us with some details about his career in 1779-1780, one of the lesser-known stages of his life.
