Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to study the problem of the king’s heritage related to the birth of the new sovereign, the Nation, and the way it entailed a new “place” for the Crown.

Doctora en Historia y Profesora Titular del Departamento de Historia Contemporánea de la Universidad de Valencia. Últimamente ha editado Reflexiones sociales y otros escritos de José Canga Argüelles, en el Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales. Su línea de investigación preferente se centra en la Ilustración tardía y en el primer liberalismo español.

Encarna García Monerris, Universidad de Valencia

Doctora en Historia y Profesora Titular del Departamento de Historia Contemporánea de la Universidad de Valencia. Últimamente ha publicado “El territorio cuarteado, o cómo organizar el gobierno de los pueblos”, en El primer liberalismo. España y Europa, una perspectiva comparada (Valencia, 2003). Su línea de investigación atiende preferentemente a los aspectos institucionales de ámbito local en la crisis de la Monarquía absoluta y el primer liberalismo
