Campomanes (Asturias, 1723- Madrid, 1802) has been studied by legal historiography as an enlightened, reformist, royalist and servant of the Hispanic Monarchy; in this work we propose an approach to his influence in the configuration of modern constitutionalism of a historical nature, which is his own, and in the first liberals who were heirs, in part, of this. Particular attention is paid to its relevance in the formation of the constitutional culture of the Enlightenment and Liberalism in its native province, the Principality of Asturias.
