Keywords:
Spanish Second Republic, Spanish Territories of the Gulf of Guinea (TTEEGG), Republican commissioner, demands of the colonial residents, transitional justiceAbstract
The stablisment of the Spanish Second Republic greatly pleased the residents of the Spanish Territories of the Gulf of Guinea, who addressed the new regime, denouncing the injustices suffered under the former regime, claiming for transitional justice and demanding reforms in the colonial regime. The Republic sent a commissioner to the colony to investigate the denounced facts and inspect all colonial services. This essay focuses on this mission conducted by the republican commissioner: it reviews the complaints and demands of the colonials, the diligences carried out by the commissioner and the conclusions and reforms proposed by him.
