The judicial reforms of the first Republican biennium (1931-1933)

The aim of this paper is to analyse the judicial reforms developed by the Spanish Second Republic during 1931-1933, an epoque mainly known due to its reforms in different fields. This paper systematises the judicial reforms according to their goals: constitutionalisation of an independent public power, republicanisation of its components and practices, citizen participation in the justice system and, finally, modernisation of procedures and working habits.
