A decisive mobilization of the political forces allowed in 1791 the creation of the first written Constitution in Poland, showing the vitality of the State and its legal system. But, even when the Polish Constitution of 3rd May 1791 is in fact the first written Constitution in Europe, it has been forgotten in most of the studies on Constitutional History in Western Europe.
